Achieving FORS Silver Accreditation - The Right Standard for Our Fleet Today

We’re proud to announce that Thurrock Engineering Supplies has achieved FORS Silver Accreditation - an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to safe, efficient, and responsible fleet operations.

While we previously held FORS Gold, our move to Silver reflects not a reduction in standards, but a natural evolution in line with our current transport needs and project requirements.

A Positive Step Forward, Not Backward

FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) accreditation is widely recognised across the logistics and construction industries as a benchmark for best practice in fleet management.

Holding FORS Gold demonstrated our ability to meet the highest levels of compliance and performance - particularly during a period when we were supporting projects that specifically required Gold-level accreditation.

However, as a number of those larger contracts have now come to an end, the highest accreditation required for our current work is FORS Bronze.

In response, we made the decision to step down from Gold to Silver - a level that remains highly respected and perfectly suited to our operations today.

Why Silver Makes Sense for TES

Our fleet primarily consists of LGV vehicles, supporting local and regional deliveries for ongoing engineering and supply contracts.

FORS Silver represents the ideal balance for this type of fleet:

  • Strong focus on driver safety and training
  • Enhanced environmental performance
  • Robust vehicle compliance and monitoring
  • Recognition beyond the Bronze baseline

Silver ensures we continue operating to a high professional standard, while aligning with the needs of our customers and the scope of our current projects.

Continuing Our Commitment to Best Practice

Achieving Silver accreditation reinforces that we remain committed to:

  • Safer roads for our drivers and the public
  • Efficient and well-managed fleet operations
  • Reduced environmental impact
  • Ongoing improvement in transport performance

Even though Gold is no longer essential for the contracts we currently serve, we continue to uphold the values and practices that FORS represents.

Looking Ahead

Fleet accreditation is not just about meeting a requirement - it’s about maintaining a culture of responsibility and professionalism.

FORS Silver is the right level for TES today, and we remain ready to adapt and progress again in the future should project requirements change.

For now, we’re pleased to have secured an accreditation that reflects both our operational needs and our ongoing dedication to excellence.
