Supplying UK infrastructure and industry since 1990

Sectors we supply

Thurrock Engineering Supplies has supplied workwear, PPE, tools, fixings and site consumables since 1990. The six sectors below are where that supply is specified differently enough to be worth treating separately — the catalogue overlaps heavily, the standards, consumption rates and pre-qualification requirements do not.

  • RISQS-registered for rail, supplier ID 10079.
  • FORS Silver accredited delivery fleet, ID 001657.
  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified by AUVA, a UKAS-accredited certification body.

Six sectors, six different specifications

Each page sets out what TES supplies into that sector, the accreditations a buyer there actually asks about, and how the supply is run day to day.

Rail

The most tightly gated sector TES works in. RISQS-registered, supplier ID 10079. Hi-vis specified against the Railway Group Standard rather than the general construction one, plus tools, fixings and consumables for rail engineering stores.

Road and highways

Where the delivery fleet is part of the contract. FORS Silver accredited, fleet ID 001657, with electric vans on local work since 2020. Hi-vis, weatherwear, tools, building materials and welfare for maintenance and road construction.

Tunnelling

Underground work consumes gloves, footwear and respiratory protection at rates surface work does not predict. ISO 45001 certified, and geared to resupply cadence rather than one-off issue.

Ports

Continuous operations, salt air and a mixed workforce on one estate. A long-standing supplier to Tilbury Docks, twenty minutes away on the north bank of the Thames.

Marine

Quayside, waterside and vessel-support work, where the PPE specification changes at the water’s edge and corrosion sets the maintenance schedule.

Engineering and industrial

The trade TES was founded on in 1990. Tools, fixings, abrasives, lubricants and workshop PPE for engineering workshops, manufacturers and maintenance teams. ISO 9001 certified continuously since March 2000.

What does not change between sectors

The specification changes by sector. The company behind it does not. TES is family-run, second generation, and has traded from Essex since 1990 — from purpose-built premises in West Thurrock since 2001.
